TransEurope Marinas, Europe’s most extensive marina network, is extending its cooperation with Pick a Pier, an Israeli boater application that enables online communication between boaters and marinas.
Pick a Pier recently announced a new business plan to modernise and streamline the recreational boating experience, striving to match the standards people are accustomed to when traveling the world.
Pick a Pier’s platform helps marinas save time and resources, increase revenue, and improve their service and customer retention. It allows boaters to plan their voyage ahead of time, find marinas, and make a reservation for a berth — rather than potentially waiting around upon arrival.
Marinas can maintain a connection with their visitors and residents, and offer them benefits as TransEurope Marinas members, which may be redeemed digitally.
Pick a Pier has already digitised the berth reservation process for dozens of marinas and is working with TransEurope Marinas to get more marinas to sign their boaters onto the platform, or encourage them to join individually.
“We took inspiration from the airline and hospitality industries,” says Idan Cohen, Pick a Pier CEO. “You don’t see travelers hunting down phone numbers for airlines anymore or hiring an agent just to reserve a night at a hotel. It’s all done online. We know boaters will love being able to do the same when planning a trip, and digitalisation opens the door to additional improvements for marinas as well.”
“Pick a Pier has already digitised TransEurope Marinas memberships, and their platform is an advantage to our member marinas,” says Jean-Michel Gaigné, CMM chairman at TransEurope Marinas. “Our industry is slow to adopt technological tools, and Pick a Pier’s platform is a necessary breath of innovation.”
